China National Machinery Import & Export Corporation (CMC), always forging ahead against all odds with our nation and sharing the common destiny with the times, ushers in its seventieth anniversary as China is delivering on the first centenary goal.
Seventy years of brilliance dedicates to forging a new China. As the earliest largescale state-owned foreign trade enterprise engaging in import and export of machinery and electronic products and international project contracting after the birth of New China, CMC always positions the fate of enterprise with the great cause of national development, shoulders the mission entrusted by history without
hesitation, strives in the forefront of the times, and maintains China’s leading trade channel of machinery and electronic products. It has been present in each historic period of national economic development, creating so many FIRSTS: import of the first commercial aircraft, the first automobile, the first railway vehicle, the first refrigerator production line and the first container factory, to name just a few. These achievements have made historic contributions to the establishment and improvement of the national industrial system. In 1998, CMC became a wholly-owned subsidiary and founding member of China General Technology (Group) Holding Co., Ltd. (Genertec), a vital backbone state-owned enterprise under the direct supervision of the central government, and its business operation took on a new journey. Over the past 70 years, its market has spread to more than 160 countries and regions globally, with a total import and export value of over 100 billion US dollars, covering energy, new energy,rail transport, chemical industry, light industry, building materials, infrastructure, shipping, complete equipment and other business fields. CMC has become the pioneer of international business operations among Chinese enterprises.
Seventy years of advancement paves the way for the new era. Since 2017, CMC has fully implemented the message conveyed via the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, actively served the national strategy, followed the Five Characteristics Strategy of Genertec, and spared no effort to build the New International CMC with “Four Traits” (1. Core Business with International Competitiveness, 2. Business Assets and Industries Covering the Global Market, 3. International Capital Allocation Platform and Investment & Financing Capabilities, 4. Regional Business Centers and Localized Management Team). CMC has witnessed profound changes in its development pathway and quality.
A series of major projects, such as the Payra Thermal Power Plant in Bangladesh, the Matara-Beliatta Railway in the South of Sri Lanka, the Automobile Production Capacity Cooperation in Kazakhstan, the Dhaka-Ashulia Elevated Expressway Project in Bangladesh, and Global Industrial Products Trading and Service Platform of REGI, have been
successfully launched and implemented, indicating that the New International CMC is striding into a new era.
What’s past is prologue. Standing at the new starting point of Chinese national rejuvenation, CMC will further implement Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, continue to make full utilization of the genetic advantage of “internationalization”, and focus on the two main industries: International Engineering and Global Trade & Services. Our mission is to become a common prosperity contributor for the Belt and Road Initiative and a participant in the allocation of global resources. We adhere to the core idea of “Study, Strive and Succeed”, uphold the proposition of “Three Conversions–Quality, Efficiency and Momentum”, and strive to become an Internationally Renowned Engineering Contractor and a World-Class Global Trade Service Provider. CMC aims to make new contributions to economic and social development of the world. Only under competitive circumstances can the true character of a hero be shown; only at crucial moments can the pure devotion and loyalty of a man be demonstrated. With the new historical position in mind, CMC, which has withstood
the test of time for 70 years, will never forget its original aspiration and keep its mission firmly in mind. We will seize the day and live it to the full. While the nation is realizing the two centenary goals, we will uphold the sustainable development concept of extensive consultation, joint contribution and shared benefits, cooperate wholeheartedly with global partners, and jointly create a community with a shared future for mankind.
